Your Host…
Hi, this is Roohi Moolla, your host for SocialBizWorld. Well, it’s hard to believe but we’re in the throes of planning for the next SocialBiz conference already! We’re so thrilled that the first SocialBiz conference was such a success – and of course that was due to you, all our attendees, our fantastic Speakers, our Presenters and all of those who were involved in putting on such a great event. In response to many, many requests, we decided not to wait a whole year to bring you the next conference – so mark your calendars for Friday, October 22nd, 2010 and get ready to attend an even bigger and better conference. We’re keeping the things you told us you liked – the quality of the speakers, sessions and presenters, “hosting” you at this event by making you feel personally welcome – not just one of a crowd, the networking opportunities and so on. But we’re also adding an Awards reception because we think it’s so important to recognize those who really go further and stretch their skills in the area of technology and Social Media, plus we’re adding a Friday night party!
We hope to see you there!- Roohi.
Why this conference?
Social Media is simply the ability to interact and have a conversation online – through blogs and comments, through reviews, through shared information, through collaboration. By giving us more control over what and how we interact online, Social Media has given us a voice – and a choice over the information we consume. And that’s why Social Media is and has the potential to be so powerful and why it’s changing how we’ve traditionally done business all these years – in marketing, in sales, in creating and managing customer relationships and in our communities.
In the last few years, Social Media has begun to have a tremendous impact on how we do business, especially with the growing popularity of newer tools like Twitter and Facebook, and their ability to be connected. The impact for business, education, science, government, news, marketing, advertising, and numerous other areas is only now beginning to be realized.
This conference is the result of many, many conversations I’ve had over the last 18 months or so with clients, peers, colleagues and friends. After every seminar and workshop and conversation, I’ve heard similar questions and concerns around Social Media and its impact on how we do – or can do – business. It became clear that there’s a tremendous need for information and resources to be gathered together in a single event so people can have their questions answered.
I hope you’ll join us as we come together to explore the potential of the new digital Social Web, and all its possibilities.
